Are they certain that bridge measures what's on the sign?

Different bridge this time DMW. That said, I'm not sure of the relationship between the advertised measurements of the bridges and the actual ones. Given recent events, might be worth looking into.

If you are going to drive a truck you should know the vehicle height. Then while you are driving the truck pay attention to the signs that indicate the bridge heights. If the bridge height is less than your truck height you won't fit.

MP , you are right , its not rocket science . These drivers are either ignoring the signs because they are all clearly marked or they are complete idiots and don't care . On the same note , they mark the bridges but if the roadway is re paved after marking it adds 2-3 inches every time .

Last week I had to wait behind a fully loaded semi to back up all the way from that bridge to Fairy Lane so that he could turn around. Maybe the GPS people could put that info. on the route?!

This is part of living in Pville . Its been happening since i can remeber.. Back in the late fifites or early sixties ,, i cant remeber either late 50s or early 60s, i saw my first truck , i think...... It gos in 3s , it shouldnt happen for awhile now.

so is someone sending them this way (ie., gps routes) pointing them under the wrong bridge??? trucking companies should be notified to stay away.. figure they are just following their computers, and not paying attention

What? Did anyone notice that this Patch story begins with the statement, "The Pawlings Road bridge was the culprit this time." This implies that the bridge did something wrong. Shame on you, Mr, Bridge!
