Breaking: Third Phoenixville Murder Suspect Turns Herself In

According to police, Monique Robinson, 18, surrendered to Chester County Detectives in West Chester.

The third suspect in the Sept. 14 shooting death of Selvin Lopez-Mauricio turned herself in after being on the lam for several months.

According to Det. Sgt. Joseph Nemic of the Phoenixville Police Department, Robinson surrendered to Chester County Detectives in West Chester at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 27. Robinson is wanted in connection with the murder of Lopez-Mauricio, who died from a single gunshot wound to the abdomen in the street in the 100 block of Prospect Street shortly after 1 a.m. on Sept. 14.

Robinson was video arraigned in front of District Judge Nancy A. Gill and bail was denied due to the severity of the charges. According to police, Robinson turned herself in with her attorney, Robert Donatoni.

In addition to Robinson, Saleem Williams, 20, of Sharon Hill, and Stephen Reidler, 23, of Linfield, are currently in custody on criminal homicide charges related to Lopez-Mauricio’s death. The two were brought in on warrants on Sept. 20 and later charged with homicide and related charges.

Police found Williams and Reidler on a downtown Phoenixville corner a week after the murder, but Robinson eluded capture, prompting the Citizens Crime Commission to offer a $2,500 reward for information leading to her arrest.

As the gun still hasn't been found in the case, Robinson was referred to police as "armed and dangerous" while she was on the loose.

Phoenixville Patch will have more information as it becomes available.

We here in Phoenixville are pleased with the outcome that Monique Robinson turned herself in to the authorities. Hopefully she will shed light as to the statements made by Saleem Williams and Stephen Reidler. I hope to God that the truth comes out as it should. On behalf of the victims family thanks to law enforcement in Chester County and the Phoenixville Police Department. It has been a difficult time for us but we are hanging in there as much as possible. The holidays for the victims are very difficult but I am doing my best to keep them strong.

Jose - Thanks to you for being there for the victims family. Monique should have turned herself in a long time ago. Hopefully all three of these individuals will pay dearly for this crime.
