Council Expands Restrictions on Late-Night Waste Pickup
The council voted to restrict it between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6:30 a.m.
Ever kept up at night by loud garbage trucks?
The Phoenixville Borough Council took a step towards mitigating late-night noise at last Tuesday’s meeting when it voted to stop trash pickup between the hours of 10 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. The previous ordinance barred trash pickup just between the hours of 11 p.m. and 1 a.m.
The upside, according to the council's brief pre-vote exchange, is that borough residents will be less likely to have their sleep interrupted by noisy trash pickup. The downside: with trash trucks now more likely to be on the road during business hours, commutes might be a little trickier.
