Drunk Driver Crashes, Leads Officer on Chase, Police Say
According to Phoenixville Police, the man nearly hit several pedestrians during the pursuit.
A 25-year-old Phoenixville man is in Chester County Prison after police say he crashed into a car while intoxicated and then fled the scene, leading police on a car chase that devolved into a foot race the defendant eventually lost.
According to court documents, on February 10 at 12:15 a.m. a Phoenixville Police officer on patrol heard a loud screech in the area of Main Street and Prospect Street and saw a silver Hyundai rear end a car that was sitting at a stop sign.
The Hyundai peeled away from the scene and the patrol car followed it.
The officer activated its lights, but the Hyundai continued on, making a left on to Main Street and a right on to Church. The vehicle then made a left into Phoenixville Federal Savings—nearly hitting several pedestrians in the process—before its driver hopped out of the car and tried to run off. The chase was a short one.

The driver of the Hyundai was apprehended and identified as Mynor Leonidas Lopez-Perez, 25. Lopez-Perez smelled like alcohol, slurred his speech, and had difficulty staying on his feet.
He was arrested and charged with fleeing or attempting to elude an officer, three counts of DUI, an accident involving damage to an attended vehicle, driving without a license, and careless driving. He faces preliminary hearing on February 14.

this guy might live in Phoenixville but he surely is not a Phoenixville man. Why are all these drunk Guatemalans driving cars around town. If they want to get a work visa that's fine but don't give them a license.

You mean he is not a Phoenixville man because he wasn't born in Phoenixville? The overwhelming majority of DUI's in Phoenixville are from people born in the USA and not anywhere else. To think anything else would mean that the person has a distorted view of reality that is based on bigotry and not facts. You can be prejudiced against people that learned Spanish before English, you can hate their food and cultural customs, you can hate whatever you want, but it will not change the facts. This person is an individual and represents himself.

I am not racist. I enjoy that our town is diverisfied. But it seems that most of you who are saying there's not a problem with our Guatemalan neighbors have no clue as to what's really going on. I mean we have a section of town called "little Guatemala". Let me fill you in a little bit on the problems that are plain to see while out and about around town. And again, this is what I see and it's not by any means all Guatemalans that are here. But the scenes I will infom you of I see quite often.
1.)They get hammered drunk at the bar and in the woods around town. I don't mean laughing and singing. I mean shit faced, feeling up women (most of whom are visitors to our town) and wanting to fight drunk. It's not only annoying and dangerous but bad for business. Talk to any bouncer in town and they will tell you about it.
2.) They get drunk in the woods surrounding Bridge street, leave all of there cans and trash then get in their "cars" and roll out. One particulary fine evening (a few hours after seeing about 7 of them going in to the woods with two 30 packs of Keystone beer) while taking my dog for a walk I found him eatting fresh people shit. Next to all of their beer cans left there of course. Yummy!
3.) And by "cars" mentioned above I mean their souped up, loud muffler, spoiler havin death machines that they drive around at 60 miles an hour in town. Because most drive like idiots.
So take a look around and see what's happening before you start accusing racisim.
