My daughter was shocked to learn about Dr. C this week. Her experience with him, and from what she knows of her friends' as well, was always great. As I read some of the comments in this thread, I wonder how many of you have even stepped into a PASD school facility lately. Over the past 2.5 years, PAMS has been an excellent school for my daughter. All her friends are doing well. The administrators and teachers have been fantastic. The facility is beautiful. The programs are impressive. I see some other parents in this thread, but mostly clowns, the same ones who troll every article on Patch. So disappointing to read...

I am a resident/voter/taxpayer/parent in RTMSD. This is, obviously, VERY concerning and many of us are hoping to get some answers as to HOW this man was hired w/ a questionable background. There is a meeting tonight at SLMS, and I think it would be great if there was a representative from Phoenixville SD there to shed some light. There are rumors swirling, about "sealed records", a demotion, issues that were swept aside as to why Dr. C left in the first place. Of course we are all hopeful that it's true he never laid his hands on any children (as if the child porn industry isn't horrific enough!), but we want to make sure this NEVER happens in our district again! Therefore, answers about how it happened this time (supposedly he was turned down by another district before RTM hired him...) may help to prevent it from repeating itself. I realized that the parents in Phoenixville SD are probably even MORE mortified to learn this information since he was your MS principal for 7 years. Perhaps some good can come out of a dialogue between the 2 districts involved in the employment of this sick man. Lastly, I am very sad for his family and hope that they somehow make it though this without too much despair. So very sad all the way around.

Dr C left his position as MS principal and accepted a new administrative role within
the PHX district. He became the face of the building of new middle school project and community. His role helped smooth the transition for the students to the new building that opened in Aug 2012. He meet with communtiy, leaders,parents,eventually giving tours of new building during the whole process.
Question ? Why did Dr C leave his role as principal for a aminstrative role for 6 months ? He finishes school year in new role then leaves and becomes new ms principal somewhere else. I think someone was aware of possible charges coming down the road and PHX washed its hands of DR C.... Its all about who,and when the powers to be known and will admit.... My daughter went to Phoenixville Middle School and now goes to the high school. We have only had wonderful experiences at both schools. The teachers, administrators and staff are top notch. Dr. C seemed to be a fantastic school prinicipal, leader and motivator. I was shocked to find out that Dr. C was displaced as Principal and moved into a new role during the school year.

Luke C.....you don't have the full story correct. Dr. C was involved with the new school while he was the Principal and followed through once he switched roles. Supposedly, Dr. C was moved into the position of Director of Virtual Learning. We were told he was the best man to build this program for the district. I found this very odd. It seemed by all accounts that Dr. C did an outstanding job as Principal. Something didn't smell right to me. I have a friend in Administration there and he told me that the word swirling around was that Dr. C wasn't good at delegating and managing people so they made the change.

Now that all of this has transpired, I wonder what the reall story is. I agree with Children are our Furture that the 2 school districts need to get together to discuss how this happened. The administration at Phoenixville should be looked at hard to make sure they weren't covering something up.

Here might be an interesting perspective for those of you following this article:
I was a student at PAMS while he was principle. To me, he seemed like nothing but a hard working, honest guy, who was good at his job. There were students who liked him, and those who didn't; I liked him. I don't think he ever came off as creepy or weird. I think it is very unfair that people are slandering the whole district when they clearly do not know what they are talking about. PAHS is without a doubt in my mind, one of the best districts in our area, even in our state (as shows in our 25th ranking). Whenever talking to one of my friends from out of district about PAHS, they often say, "Wow you have that there?" or "Cool I wish we had that." As a student I can attest to the fact that every student who WANTS to succeed there, can, and will. Our faculty is full of amazing teachers and motivators. They've done an incredible job the past few years, and I think great things are in store for our school. Don' let one isolated incident change your whole view.

Way to go PVilleRes. It's great that a student spoke out. You should be very proud! As a parent of a PAHS student, I feel the same. PAHS is an incredible school and the ranking they were awarded by US World News & Report proves it.

Someone needs to find out why. Dr. C was allowed to take kids to an obstacle coarse, paid for by the Education Foundation and it was called building teamwork. After 20 yrs of dealing with public education, Dr. C was the 1st Administrator I meet who was completely clueless what it meant to "Respect the Boundaries".

I'm not defending the actions of Dr. Czukoski and I doubt he will either. Whatever caused the behavior is beyond all of our understanding. But what is clear is that through a federal investigation there was no evidence of improper contact or communication with a minor. That does not mitigate what he did, but keep in mind he is paying a very high price. Its almost a tragedy of biblical proportion that a man dedicated to education hurt himself and his family in such a way. Phoenixville has a great school district with wonderful student-centered teachers and staff. And that goes back to the days of Mr. Vincent Daher. Mr. Daher did not have access to today's technology or support services but he damn sure put every student first. There is no doubt in my mind that Vince Daher would have taken a bullet before he would let a child get hurt.

Given that CA is featured on lockup every weekend, there must be someone out there waiting for your sagacious knowledge of law and order. Go offer them an opinion. I think those are reasonable questions considering the timing and events. But as a reasonably minded person consider another option: PASD board knew nothing. Cuzkowski was brought in under a prior administration. Dr. Fegley came in and made several changes to school buildings based on his teaching philosophy. Cuzkoswki was obviously downgraded to a lesser position. But it appears to be for other reasons. That being said, Cuzkowski passed a background check that included criminal arrest AND any reports to childline as a suspected abuser. I'm leaning on the side of PASD knew nothing and Cuzkowski was simply at odds with the superintendent.

You'll have to Google those dates to find PDFs online of the PASD School Board Meeting Minutes, as curiously, there is NO LINK FOR THE WHOLE MONTH OF FEBRUARY 2012 on the PASD website for School Board Meeting Minutes. It's simply missing. Yet they certainly held many meetings that month.

Phoenixville has its problems. Four years ago HS principal, AD, Aministrator 1 and Administratir 2 shown the door. 700k in money missing. They sued their Superintendent. They fired the basketball staff for moving a 6 foot 8 star into the district and paying his rent. They fired the interim coach tied to the crew. They fired the next guy. The current principal was passed over 3 times and now people are raising eyebrows. They had a wrestling coach go to jail for having sex in school with a 15 year old. My guess they knew about Troy and suggested he leave. How did he have such a high profile attorney even before anything came out? RTM should demand a statement from Phoenixville and Phoenixville Attorney Ronald Williams of Fox Rothchild.
