Need some inspiration in your artistic lifestyle? Want some help with that tricky crochet stitch? Would you like to gather together with creatives in the Phoenixville area?

The Phoenixville Art and Craft Guild might be just the place you’re seeking. The group meets at Sunstone Studios/The Lighthouse Lounge once a month to work on projects and socialize. The meetups started back in June.

“There was an interest in keeping it going,” Emma Peabody, a member of the guild, said.

Some of those who join sell or display wares around town. Others like the social aspect and see it as a time to escape solo work in the studio or collect tips on improving their work.

The group is open to the public and there’s a $5 cost to cover the space rental.

“Everyone brings their own stuff to work on,” Peabody said. “It’s any creative endeavor.”

At a gathering Jan. 16, Peabody worked on origami and crochet. Iris Fried brought along a fingerless glove knitting project. Melissa Jaarsma toted her knitting with her, and Jan Cohen worked on hand stitching mittens. Victoria O’Neill worked on sketches for her WrapADoodle™ blankets, and mixed media artist Gwyn Michael brought along a small sticker project.

The group chatted about their work and learned new tricks during the gathering. Peabody said Sunstone Studios/The Lighthouse Lounge works well for the group, which sometimes gathers in crafters’ homes.

“This is just a great space for doing anything,” Peabody said.
