Patch get your numbers right - it was by over 1,000 votes. The 157th includes Montgomery County as well. Paul Drucker got trounced - and he deserved it. He lied about his support for tolling on 422, then had the nerve to accuse Rep Kampf of lying about it! Dear Paul Drucker: please go away now.

Had Paul Drucker stepped aside and allowed someone else to run there would be a Democrat going to Harrisburg from this seat and at least one other.

Drucker was never going to get the votes from Montgomery County, He would have destroyed the communities lining 422 had he gotten back to Harrisburg.

I wish Chester County would toll the the Valley Creek bridge, the Monte Clare bridge and the Rte. 113 bridge all connecting Montgomery County. Keep Montco aggressive drivers out of Phoenixville for good and you can keep Rte. 422 toll free.

Right, and the self-appointed experts continue pushing their garbage even in victory. Trounced? 1,002 vote margin out of a total of 30,424? Hardly. Take a nap. Get a grip. The 422 tolling lies could more than account for that difference. If it were true, why did the signs not come out until the last minute? Just like last time, last minute, scare the public, sway the uncommitted & ignorant at the last minute. Standard Republican tactic. Standard.

The BIGGEST joke in this whole mess is 422, but now that's Kampf's problem, and I'm sure he's got new, visionary direction to fix that piece of garbage. We're waiting. . .

The TT republicans needed something to feel good about after getting their collective asses kicked. It was sickening the amount of Romney yard signs I saw around here. I am a registered Independent and I could not see how anyone could vote for one of the worst presidential candidates to run in a while. He was right up there with Kerry.

Hopefully this shows the need for the GOP to move towards the center socially or otherwise run the risk of dieing out with the change in voting demographics

I wonder if 422 was really Drucker's problem. Obama, Casey, Kane and Dinniman all won a majority in Tredyffrin, but Drucker only managed 46% - over 1000 votes behind Kampf. Do Tredyffrin residents care that much about 422?

This tabulation assumes the info on the county web site is correct - which I question since the W2 precinct is shown with a turnout of only 36% - unlike all other Tredyffrin precincts which were in the 75-80% range. 1000 missing votes ........

Also notable here, is that with a high turn out Tredyffrin will vote for the Ds, but low turnout local off year races leave us ruled by the effective TTRC machine.

I think people forget that the 157th had about half of Lower Providence and West Norriton attached to it.

Drucker's Tolling Plan was devastating to to the 422 corridor that would have had at least 2 of his tolling booths.

Lower Providence has a business center that had a hard enough time getting populated as it is. What do you think the toll would have done.

Remember this was a fully formed plan Drucker was pushing.

I am a Democrat and I believe Drucker cost the Montgomery County Democrats a chance to sweep last year's County elections.

If the TE Democrats had a lick of sense they would have nominated someone like John McGuigan who has legislative experience as a former Norristown Council Member and Chairman before moving into the 157th.

At the end of the day, Drucker had a term in office and Kampf had a term in office. Drucker won in a landslide Obama victory and lost in one too. 422, no doubt, was an issue in Montgomery County and maybe Phoenixville, but probably much less in Tredyffrin (where, to note, Drucker had never won in any of the three races.) Was it the defining issue when you have a sluggish economy, no state money, etc? Probably not.

It seems like while close, people simply backed Kampf as more effective than Drucker had been. This was a race that was unique in that we could actually "compare the records" and did - and Kampf apparently came out on top in that comparison. Also give Kampf his due: he works hard as a legislator and worked hard as a candidate.

A 1,000 vote victory is a hard-fought victory and Kampf earned it. A 1,000 vote loss also shows Drucker worked hard too. It was a tough race but it is over - let's move on.

Paul Drucker was the one who should have moved on 2 years ago. Hopefully now we will never have to hear from him again.

Someone needs to tell Kampf that a photo of him with his wife and kids on a campaign ad is not an argument against his abysmal record on women's health and family planning. In fact, when he came to our door to beg for our vote, he stated unequivocally that he did not support his party's stance on abortion rights and family planning. Kampf, read your own record before opening your mouth next time.
