He was airlifted to Hahnemann Hospital, but didn't survive.
A one-car crash in Upper Providence Township this weekend took the life of a teenager, Upper Providence Police are reporting. The victim is reported to be a Spring-Ford High School student, though his name has not yet been released.
The crash, which is being investigated by Upper Providence Police and the Montgomery County Detective Bureau, occurred on August 18 at approximately 8:54 p.m. on the 1000 block of Longford Road.
At the time of the crash there were three juveniles in the vehicle; including a 17-year-old driver.
According to a source, the vehicle crashed into the fence of Reynolds Dog Park. On impact, the rear passenger was ejected from the vehicle. He was airlifted to Hahnemann Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
The driver and the vehicle’s other passenger received hospital treatment for injuries and were released.
Police believe speed was a factor in the crash. They obtained a sample of the driver’s blood for testing, the results of which are not yet available.
