A 52-year-old Malvern man died from injuries he sustained when he was hit by a van on Route 23 on Saturday night, the Daily Local News is reporting.

According to the paper, Joel Mattson was crossing the road near Meadow Lane when he was struck by the vehicle. He was not walking in a marked area at the time of the accident.

The driver of the van stopped to call police and Matson was taken to Phoenixville Hospital.
