Patch Picks: Summer Camps in the Phoenixville Area

From horseback riding to art classes to rock and roll, find it all and more in Phoenixville this summer.

 

Each week, Phoenixville Patch compiles a list of Patch Picks. For this week’s topic, we’ll take a look at area summer camps.

If you’re still undecided on where to send the kids for camp this summer in the Phoenixville area, this list can help. The Phoenixville area offers a ton of options, so find one that’s right for your little ones. In no particular order, our picks are:

Summer Camp at Piece of Paradise Farm

Where: Piece of Paradise Farm, 260 Creek Rd., Phoenixville

What: This summer camp offers up equestrian skills, horse care and, of course, riding. The camp even includes horse-related arts and crafts along with daily rides and training on skills. The camp is open to children 6 – 15, and there are three separate sessions, each lasting a week. Camp lasts from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Price: $325 per week, with an early bird special of $300 if you sign up before March 15.

Rock & Roll After School Summer Band Camp

Where: Rock & Roll After School, 400 Franklin Ave., Ste. 109, Phoenixville

What: During this whirlwind day camp from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for a week, kids will form a band and get to perform on that Friday. No prior music experience is necessary.

Price: $300 per week through March 31; $325 per week if you sign up April 1 or after.

Aerials Gymnastics Center Summer Camp

Where: Aerials Gymnastics, in the Shoppes at Valley Forge, Phoenixville

What: With offerings for many different age groups, this camp will have kids up and moving. You can choose from full-day or half-day camps. The program works to build confidence and skills.

Price: $109 to $239, depending on your choice, plus a registration fee

Great Valley Nature Center Adventure and Nature Camps

Where: Great Valley Nature Center, State and Hollow roads, Phoenixville

What: Choose from a large selection of adventure camps and nature camps for all ages. GVNC features some overnight camps and adventure treks out of the area, too.

Price: Varies depending on camp choice

Summer Camp at Phoenix Village Art Center

Where: Phoenix Village Art Center, 207 Bridge St., Phoenixville

What: This year’s new theme-oriented camp focuses on movement in art. From preschool up through teens, Phoenix Village has a host of options coming up for summer 2011.

Price: Varies depending on camp choice

There is also an outdoor summer-camp at Kimberton Waldorf School for Kindergarten through 6th grade.

Stepping Stone Education Center has summer camp for school aged children from 6:30am-6:00pm for ages 6-12. Per week is only $125.
Also there is full time care for children from 6 weeks to 5 years of age.
