Phoenixville Police Blotter: Hyundai Shot
Police think the shots were fired on October 9 on the 100 block of Penn Street.

Graffiti on Veteran’s Memorial Bridge
On October 7 at 4:30 p.m., a bicycle patrol cop spotted a fresh piece of graffiti on the bridge pillar of Veteran’s Memorial Bridge near Vanderslice Street. The officer took photos of the graffiti and passed the information along to the Streets Department.
Cornstalks Stolen From Little League Fundraiser
The president of the Phoenixville Babe Ruth Little League told police that a large amount of the cornstalks he had set up for a corn maze fundraiser were taken from the field. The man, who filed the report on October 7, told police that while the maze was being set up, two boys and a woman tried to walk off with several of the stalks, but were stopped.
Man Threatened by Ex-Wife’s Husband
A resident of Second Avenue told police that his ex-wife’s husband called him on September 30 and threatened him with physical harm. The man said he didn’t want to press charges, but just wanted the incident documented. Police called the couple, who live in Downingtown, and said they gave a conflicting report of the incident.
Historical Society Tree Vandalized
A tree on the Church Street property of the Historical Society of the Phoenixville Area was vandalized sometime before October 5. Police watched a surveillance video of the crime, and though it clearly showed a man and a woman breaking branches off the tree, they were unable to identify the pair.
A resident of the 200 block of Hall Street told police that she discovered that someone had keyed her 2012 Subaru Forester on October 5. The woman told police that someone had carved the initials “BMS” in its hood while it was parked next to Phoenixville Federal Bank. She said she suspected someone named Brittany was to blame.
A 29-year-old Maryland man was cited for urinating on the 100 block of Prospect Street on October 5 at 7:39 p.m. A bike cop spotted him and cited him for disorderly conduct.
Shoplifting and Drug Charges
On October 9 at 4:42 p.m., Melissa Giorgio and Abigail Chicglo, both of Royersford, were arrested for retail theft at the Phoenixville Kmart. When police searched Chicglo’s purse, they also found drug paraphernalia.
Two Phoenixville police officers heart gunshots come from the area of Penn Street on October 9 at 11:49 p.m. The officers located a 2005 Hyundai Sonata parked on the 100 block of Penn Street that had sustained gunshots.
Phoenixville Resident Suspected in Forgery Case
The Easton, Massachusetts police department contacted Phoenixville police on October 8 to confirm that a forgery suspect lived in the area. The resident is suspected of stealing $12,000 from a Bank of America account. Phoenixville police confirmed that the suspect is a Phoenixville resident
Woman Reports Kid Urinating in Alley
A resident of the 300 block of Prospect Street called police on October 8 at 3:44 p.m. to tell them that her neighbor’s five-year-old son had urinated in her alley. Police contacted the mother, who apologized for her son’s behavior.
Anxiety Meds, Cellphone, Stolen from Giant Shelf
Police were dispatched to Giant food store on October 7 at 5:48 a.m. when a Bridge Street resident reported that someone stole his cellphone and 14 Alprazolam pills from a shelf where he left them unattended. An investigation is pending.
Man Robbed of $5
A man told police he was walking home on October 4 at 9:13 p.m. when three men stole five dollars from him. The man said there were no weapons involved in the crime, which allegedly occurred in the low bridge area of Main Street.
