Phoenixville Police Blotter: Shots Fired, Faces Slapped
The following incident reports were provided by the Phoenixville Police Department. They do not indicate a conviction.
DUI on Main Street
A 45-year-old King of Prussia man was arrested for DUI on North Main Street last weekend, Phoenixville police are reporting. James Devlin was spotted by a bike cop driving the wrong way on Prospect Street on August 11 at 11:02 p.m., before being pulled over. His blood work is pending.
Harassment at 6-12
A 19-year-old Spring City woman reportedly slapped a 29-year-old Phoenixville man in the face in the 6-12 convenience store last Friday night, police are reporting. On August 10 at 5:44 p.m., police were dispatched to the store for a report of harassment. The alleged victim told police he did not want to press charges, but just wanted the woman to leave him alone for the rest of the night. The woman was not present when police arrived.
Fire at Golden Living Center
Police responded to a fire at the Golden Living Center on the 800 block of Main Street last night. The fire, which police were alerted to at 6:09 p.m. on August 10, originated and was contained in one of the building’s dryers. It was out by the time police arrived.
Shot Fired
A Church Street resident reported hearing a gunshot near his home last Thursday afternoon. On August 9 at 3:34 p.m., the man told police he heard a loud bang that could have been a gunshot come from the area of Bridge Street and Starr Street. Police checked the area and didn’t find anything.
Marijuana: Possession with Intent
An 18-year-old Phoenixville man was arrested last week after officers found a substance they believe to be marijuana in his possession, police are reporting. On an active criminal warrant, Kajhnel Norwood was arrested on the 100 block of Penn Street on August 8 at 4 p.m. According to the report, he had multiple baggies of a substance believed to be marijuana within a larger bag He was charged with possession with intent to distribute.
Drug Paraphernalia Possession
On August 7 at 11:48 p.m., Phoenixville police pulled over an SUV in the area of Blackrock Road and Fillmore Street for two stop sign violations and a dead license plate bulb. A subsequent search of the vehicle (which the driver consented to) turned up several pieces of drug paraphernalia associated with cocaine use; one of which was in plain view of the officer. Deniez Carter, a 52-year-old Spring City woman, was arrested for drug equipment violations.
Public Drunkenness
A 24-year-old Phoenixville man was found sleeping near the parking kiosk and trashcans on Taylor Alley on August 12 at 1:51 a.m. Phoenixville police are reporting. The man was highly intoxicated and was taken into police custody without incident.
Car Window Smashed
A Grant Street resident reported that an unknown person smashed the rear window on their 2005 Subaru Outback at approximately 2 a.m. on August 10. The owner stated that the vehicle was parked in front of their residence that night, when they heard a loud smash and a woman scream. They looked outside, but didn’t see anyone.
Car Accident/DUI
A 34-year-old Bridge Street man was allegedly under the influence of alcohol when he crashed his Chevrolet Van into the back of another vehicle on the corner of Gay Street and Third Avenue on August 7 at 4:54 p.m. Enrique Lopez was arrested for DUI and held for arraignment due to his illegal status.

And on "driving DUI " where is Gary St. and Third Ave. ?? Where's the Editor ?? The "shots fired" headline is very misleading. There was no confirmation of actually gun shots and was most likely a fire cracker or an auto engine backfiring. Phoenixville as a bad enough rep for crime. The last thing we need is people thinking that random gun shots are flying around because some old crank made a call to 911 afer hearing a fire cracker.

It doesn't matter how many bars there are in phoenixville ..... The people who drink are not responsible and cause the problems .... If there wasn't bars downtown you all would be bitching there aren't any bars around blah blah blah .... Find somethino do with your time other then complain about nonsense !!!
