Police, Drug-Sniffing Dogs Sweep Phoenixville Area High School

There were no arrests made in the sweep, which had been planned over the summer.

There were no arrests made or charges filed after a planned drug sweep took place at Phoenixville Area High School Wednesday afternoon, The Mercury is reporting.

The 45-minute sweep started at 1 p.m. and coincided with a student evacuation drill.

According to Phoenixville Police Sergeant Glenn Eckman, officers and drug-sniffing K9 units searched hallways, locker rooms, and a handful of classrooms.

Eckman told the paper that while the department filed no charges against PAHS students, the district has the right to take its own disciplinary actions based on the results of the sweep.
