Pair of DUI Arrests Made in Phoenixville Area
The second of the two arrests occurred on Fillmore Street.
South Whitehorse DUI
A 32-year-old Devon man was arrested for DUI on South Whitehorse Road last week, Schuylkill Township Police are reporting.
According to court documents, on Feb. 20 at 9:35 p.m., police saw a black Audi traveling 15 mph under the speed limit on the 400 block of South Whitehorse Road and swerving. When the officer stopped the vehicle, he noted the man had glassy eyes and betrayed other signs of intoxication. The driver said he had had two beers that night, police said. The man then took and failed field sobriety tests and was arrested and taken to Phoenixville Hospital to have blood drawn for testing. He was charged with DUI.
Filmore Street DUI

Tom Sunnergren, why have you stopped reporting the names of the individuals arrested for DUI? This information had been included in your articles through the beginning of February.

Don't betray your signs of intoxication... they will get angry.

Tom, If you're not going to give a COMPLETE report , then why waste our time with half a$$ed reports ???These two are absolutely useless......give it up and let someone who knows how to report have the job. Once someone is "arrested" their name is public record, so why do you choose to protect these offenders ??

Agreed. There are too many articles in this blog without the main 5 points of reporting. If you ain't gonna report like a reporter should report- just give it up and get a job shoveling..........................

Perhaps you have good reason not to report the names, but the story is useless information without that tidbit. I agree, without names, your reporting is not easily verifiable, so why bother?

Also, why is the information more than a week old? It's hardly 'news'! Should have been reported when the individuals were arrested. Then, that would be 'news' and not 'olds'!

My guess is that the names are omitted for a good reason. Tom has certainly done an excellent job with the Phoenixville Patch and, seeing that the names suddenly stopped appearing, perhaps consider that the police changed the way they distribute reports? I find it unfair to get nasty without seemingly trying to understand his position.

How about innocent until proven guilty!!! There was a report about my friend that was completely false but Patch put his name on it and severely damaged his 30+ year reputation in Phoenixville. When the charges were dismissed a week later, the true damage was already done! Names shouldn't be included until justice is served.

this the worst edited patch in the system and it is the editor that is the problem
first he selectively decides if the name is printed, also any criticism of his work results in your comment being deleted, and further more he allows 5 people with the same or almost the same name(harry finster) make a mockery of the read. the editor has also not responded to private emails regarding the editing of the patch it is almost like this is Tom personal blog. but it is time for a change here the patch has shown to be successful everywhere now we just need more journalistic people to keep it legit not the half a**ed we have seen uh you better read this early he will be deleting it soon
