Poll: Who Serves Up the Best Hoagie in Town?

We're looking for the best hoagie in Phoenixville.

A rose by any other name might smell as sweet, but a submarine sandwich just isn’t the same if it’s not called a hoagie.

In this week's Best of Phoenixville poll, we’re looking for the best hoagie in town. Choose from one of the establishments below, or, if we missed one, tell us in the comments.

Polls will close at 9 a.m. on Friday and the winner will be announced that afternoon at 12 p.m. There will be a new Best of Patch poll every Monday morning at 5 a.m. In the event of a tie on our survey, we will break the tie by counting the positive comments written below about the tied businesses, so please let us know why you think your choice is best.

Hog Island's sandwichs are great and Mimmo's has been closed for some time . This is what happens when you don't have a local editor. There is not a word about Dogwood Festival. There was not a word about the celtic /Irish festival this past weekend. Very disappointed in the Phoenixville Patch . Lynn where are you please come back.

Speaking of the Dogwood Festival... I hope word gets out that the Dogwood Parade begins at noon this year - according to the Jaycees website and their Event listing on Patch. I haven't seen the time change advertised much yet.

Mimmo's shouldn't be in the poll they aren't even in business anymore. How about replaceing them with Bella Napoli.

Primo Hoagies, Pat's Pizza, TD Alfredo's, Sal's Pizza Box....
Gee whiz, shouldn't the people filling in as temp editors at least drive through town once in a while?

Primo is the best in Phoenixville right now. But this is a franchise. So, I would like to see more local choices. Mimmo's has been closed for a while so I'm not even sure how they ended up as a choice. What about Bob's Haven?

EAGLE'S NEST!!! Located over the bridge in Mont Clare, the best around. They also make the incredibly delicious hot roast pork sandwich Lee's used to make in Phoenixville when I was a child.

On another note, Phoenixville purists call 'em ZEPS, not hoagies. Hoagies have lettuce!

Locally Bob's Haven, Corropolese (Limerick/Norristown) if you don't mind the ride or are also getting tomatoe pie.

Be patient everyone. I'm sure it took Lynn some time to become familiar with our town, too. No worries!

I suppose you folks who complain about the editorial content of this site need to ask for a refund. Oh, wait.

Anyway, I'm glad for this poll to be posted, I'm tired of having to go to Wegmans whenever I want to get a good sub...err..."hoagie" as you Pennsylvanians like to call them ;)

The Haven---you got to be crazy! More like a onion sandwich, and a poor one at that. Wasko's is the best. The Haven....get real!

A zep is strictly Cooked Salami, Provolone, Tomato, Onion, Oregano, Oil and, of course, optional Hot Peppers. A Hoagie can be any kind of meat (Turkey, Ham, Roast Beef), or salad (Tuna, Chicken, Egg) or nothing but cheese. Just taking the lettuce off a hoagie doesn't make it a zep.

Love Bridgeside, but they're NEVER open at a convenient time....like DINNER, WEEKENDS. Some of us actually work full-time!
