St. John's Collects Food for PACS
Approximately 1,000 items were collected over 11 days.
Recently, Phoenixville's St. John's United Church of Christ collected and delivered about 1,000 food items to Phoenixville Area Community Services (PACS) for its food bank.
The drive kicked off on Nov. 1 and ended on 11/11/11, and during those 11 days there was a specific goal of collecting $50 of food per day. The drive also collected $550, which was used daily to purchase food using only locally run food stores.
In addition to other donations, the drive was helped out by a $194 Neighbors in Need offering and $111.11 from another special offering.
On top of the $50 per day and the large donation box of food, the church also threw in another $100 for PACS.

St. John's is a wonderful congregation with a long history of caring for our neighbors in need. In the Spring, could you write an article about their community garden?
