This is the former General Store in the historic village of Wilmer, formerly Harveyville. It is at the intersection of Pothouse and Charlestown Roads. The building still stands and is largely rental apartments. This was the hot spot in Wilmer before the day of Bader's Market, if I understand correctly!?

And I agree. I actually drove by to confirm my first impression and now lost out in being the first to identify the location. Bummer !!!!

Sorry Sharon! It was only by luck that I stumbled upon the article myself! Glad to hear that you agree!

Ditto Pothouse & Charlestown Roads. William Brunner in the Spring City/Limerick/Royersford Parch has a great article about Wilmer and this general store: http://limerick.patch.com/blog_posts/halloween-in-wilmer.

Yes I also remember this place......as I recall there were also the McCabe's there in later 50;s.....and the Frizzell family around the corner.....and of course the Bader's.

Actually, now that I think about it, it was McCann's not McCabe's that also lived there....
