Weekend Drive Garners Over Half a Ton of Pet Food for SPCA

According to event organizer Bob Domarasky, 1,347 pounds of food and $600 were donated.

The old adage “there’s no such thing as a free meal” sure doesn’t seem to apply to Chester County pups.

Good thing.

According to event organizer Bob Domarasky, a weekend drive for area animals garnered 1,347 pounds of food and $600 in donations. The fundraiser was held on August 11 and 12 in the borough, and Domarasky told Patch in an email that many Phoenixville residents made generous donations. The drive was co-organized by Bryan Varady.

The proceeds will be donated to the Chester County SPCA.
