Chesterbrook Academy First Graders in Phoenixville Present Donation to Local Animal Shelter

On Feb. 21, first graders from Chesterbrook Academy Elementary School in Phoenixville delivered a donation to the Animal Rescue League of Berks County in Birdsboro, Pa. Students have been studying the needs of animals in their community and the importance of caring for them. Students worked together to raise more than $100 for the shelter by baking and selling dog treats. During their visit to the shelter, students had the opportunity to meet some of the animals.

Since 1952, the Animal Rescue League of Berks County, Inc. (ARL) has provided shelter and care for unwanted and abused animals. The ARL's mission is to impact all aspects of humane treatment of animals through quality service, accommodation and education of pet owners and the community.
