Janet, you wrote 'Canceled' twice. It's spelled 'Cancelled'.
H & N: I wasn't 100% sure myself so I looked it up before I wrote the article. "American English has only recently adopted the one-l spellings of canceled, canceling, etc., and the change is not fully engrained in the American language. In web searches of American publications covering the last couple of years, cancelled and cancelling still appear about once for every five instances of canceled and canceling. Outside the U.S., meanwhile, the one-l spellings appear only very rarely. Any other constructive comments?

Janet, the fact that you had to research the spelling of a word we all learned in third grade is a little disturbing. The proper spelling is indeed, CANCELLING. I hear 'Hooked on Phonics' is a great program for people trying to sharpen their spelling skills. You may consider checking it out.

One 'l' or two, both are correct. Not sure what the big deal is.
MPorchik: Thank you. H & N: I guess you are just rude. End of discussion. I will not be commenting on your posts again. I'm too busy. I forgive you.
