Renaissance Academy College Scholarships Surpass 3 Million Dollars!

PHOENIXVILLE, PA – Faye Tiger Conquest, High School Counselor for the Renaissance Academy Charter School, proudly announced today that the seniors of the Renaissance Academy Class of 2014 have passed the three million dollar mark in awarded college scholarship money.   These 48 seniors, who have been accepted to universities such as Temple, Drexel, and St. Joseph’s, have collectively earned a total of $3,044,000 in academic scholarships.

Stand out Renaissance senior, Ann Marie Crabb of Royersford, PA received a full tuition scholarship to Temple University with a yearly stipend for research, study abroad or additional coursework.  In addition, Miss Crabb was named a Commended Student in the 2014 National Merit Scholarship Program which places her among the top five percent of students who took the 2012 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.  She credits Renaissance Academy’s learning environment with cultivating her success as a student. About her school, Miss Crabb said, “My time at Renaissance has taught me dedication, confidence, and respect, thus providing me with the ability to be a successful student.”

Brandon Weaver of Pottstown, PA has received a scholarship for $212,000 from Elizabethtown College.  He has accepted an offer from Widener University and will attend there in the fall to study engineering.  Mr. Weaver said that he is looking forward to the next stage in his educational career stating, “The unique academic experience here at Renaissance Academy has given me the confidence and skills needed to achieve my goals.”

Other notable senior scholarships awardees include Richard Kelley of Norristown, PA who received a full tuition scholarship to Indiana University of Pennsylvania: as well as Cameron Allen of Pottstown, PA who has received scholarships from many colleges, totally more than $450,000.  Mr. Allen will be attending Arcadia University to study international relations.

Mrs. Conquest reported that, “Several of our seniors have applied to colleges where the notification of admission is sent by April 1st, consequently we expect our total scholarship amount to be increasing.”  Mrs. Conquest proudly added, “This is the 2nd time in the history of Renaissance Academy’s High School that the graduating class earned more than $3 million.”

About the achievements of the Class of 2014, Gina Guarino Buli, CEO of Renaissance Academy said, “On behalf of the entire RA community I extend my congratulations to this outstanding class of seniors. Their accomplishments while at our school have been impressive and I am tremendously proud to see each of them complete their educational journey at Renaissance this school year. They will undoubtedly continue to make us proud in their college aspirations and career paths.”
