MALVERN – Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls and children of all ages are welcome at “The Greatest Show in Chester County!”: Rep. Duane Milne’s Annual Kids Fest extravaganza on Saturday, June 21.

This year’s event will be at a brand new location as it has moved to the Great Valley Middle School. Milne (R-Chester) will once again host his family event from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. that features many hands-on activities for the whole family as well as valuable information for children presented in a kid-friendly, fun way.  As always, the Fest will have free parking, admission and food, and will be held rain or shine.

“The new location of Great Valley Middle School has allowed me to expand the event even more and bring in new and exciting activities for children and families. As the parent of a youngster myself, I am so glad to offer a family-centered event that is both fun and educational for children and their families,” Milne said.

Some of the planned activities include the Philadelphia Zoo on Wheels, which will be on site from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Milne will join with Activate Chester County in a KidWalk around the school from 11:45-12:15 p.m. to promote the importance of physical fitness.  Awards will be presented to the kid participants.

Immediately following the walk, the Jefferson Hospital helicopter will be landing on the grounds of the Church Farm School for all to see up close and climb through.

New this year, will be a juggler, a train ride for kids and families, remote-controlled (RC) airplanes, a robotics demonstration, an array of carnival games and a golf game for children of all ages.

Additionally, kids can work off some energy on inflatable obstacle courses, and also safely practice fire drills in a simulated fire scene.  Fire trucks and ambulances from local volunteer fire companies will be on hand for kids to climb and explore, with rides on an antique fire truck also available.

Everyone can enjoy face painting, hair designs, art activities, balloon animals and much more.  “Stubby” from the American Helicopter Museum will be present all day for kids to climb in. Life-sized children’s characters will be walking around during the Fest.

Dozens of government and non-profit organizations with a focus on children will be present in an exhibitors’ area to provide information to parents and answer questions.

Milne’s favorite activity of the day will be the dunk tank, and he will be sure to be on the hot seat during the day.  “I’m hoping it will be a nice, warm day so when I splash down into the water, it will be more refreshing rather than chilling,” Milne joked.

Free food will be provided by the Desmond Hotel, Mompops Popsicles, TCBY of King of Prussia, On the Border, Seasons Pizza, The Great Valley Grill and Chickie’s and Pete’s.
