37% of Pennsylvanians Want Out -- But That Means Most of Us Want to Stay
Sixty-two percent of Pennsylvanians would stay in the commonwealth, even if given the opportunity to leave.
A recently released Gallup poll found that 37 percent of Pennsylvanians would move out of the state if given the opportunity. But of course that means most of us -- 62 percent -- would stay.
One percent of respondents had no opinion.
Gallup also asked about people's intent to move. Some 90 percent of Pennsylvanians polled said they were not at all likely to move to a different state in the next 12 months. Three percent were very likely and 7 percent somewhat likely to move.
Only a handful of states had people more likely to stay put than Pennsylvanians -- Texas, Minnesota, Iowa, Maine and Vermont.
The 50-state Gallup poll was conducted from June to December 2013, and was released April 30. Gallup spoke to 600 people over age 18 in state.
