The Firebird Festival is now scheduled for December 14 at Friendship Field. Because the event is now being held in a public park the organizers are going to be working even more closely with Phoenixville officials.

Festival Organizer Henrik Stubbe Teglbjaerg has now posted the plan for the layout of the festival on the Festival website, including vending areas, fencing and the location of the burning bird on the field. According to the posting and the Facebook announcement, Teglbjaerg plans to present the map/plan to township officials on Monday.  Under the approval granted by the Borough Council this month, Borough staff members must sign off on the plans.

On Facebook, Teglbjaerg is encouraging Festival Fans to comment on the plan and get involved at the website.

Organizers are also trying to raise $10,000 in donations to help defray the cost of staging the festival.  Read more about the fundraising effort and how to help here on Phoenixville Patch.

I assume they mean the "borough". Township and borough both seem to be used interchangably on this site when specifically referring to the borough. I'd suggest "municipality" as an alternative that way you're never at risk of being incorrect. But I think it's easy to assume they mean the borough in this specific case.

Maybe it has to do with the residents near Township Line Road. My wife has relatives near there and they were commenting that the traffic on Township Line Road that night will be terrible. Perhaps Township Line Road should be closed that night to through traffic to help the residents. They also question the parking available. We hold the 4th of July Festivities there but this event exceeds the attendance numbers for the 4th celebration.

No, it is the Borough. The word "township" inadvertantly appeared in an earlier version of this article. Patch regrets the error. If you click on the Friendship Field link in blue in the story it will take you to information about Friendship Field and where it is located!

No biggie Bob. You'll find that from time to time people will jump on every little thing. Mr. Ed, I'm not saying you did, I'm just warning Bob as the new editor (as I am sure he's seen) that there are people lurking out here who just love to jump on every little thing as they have nothing better to do. Thanks for the info.
