First Friday Kicks off Big Weekend

Perfect weather draws huge crowd to downtown Phoenixville.

September's First Friday festivities kicked off a big weekend for events in Phoenixville.

Thousands of people flocked to Bridge and Main Streets Friday night to take advantage of picture perfect late summer/early fall weather and temperatures. This was the next-to-last First Friday of the 2013 series which features live bands, charity and small vendor booths and shops open late.

This month's First Friday also featured the official ribbon cutting and ceremonial grand opening of the new Phoenixville Borough Hall at 351 Bridge Street.

This weekend's other huge event is the Phoenixville Blues Festival which will run from 12 noon-10 p.m. Saturday in Reeves Park.
