Get Out: Kimberton Fair Begins Monday and More

Find fun over the next few days in the Phoenixville area.

It’s hot.

But, it won’t be hot forever. There’s hope for a cool down for part of the weekend and according to Phillyweather.net, the excessive heat warning winds down on Saturday.

Get out there and do something fun over the next few days in the Phoenixville area. There’s plenty going on, and the biggest event of all is the Kimberton Fair, which kicks off Mon., July 25. Fireworks are slated for Fri., July 29 at 10 p.m.

Where/When: , July 25 – 30

Why Go: Fun rides, delicious donuts, racing animals, a baby contest, the crowing of the queen and of course the fireworks make this a can’t-miss event for many area residents. All proceeds benefit Kimberton Volunteer Fire Company. The heat wave will have broken by then, so get out and have some fun.

Cost: Nightly ride wristbands are $16; matinee ride wristbands are $12 on Saturday; donations accepted for parking

Where/When: , Thurs., July 21, 7 p.m.  

Why Go: Find out more about Walkable Kimberton and take in this play performed by Theatre Horizon’s Young Company of Actors and presented by the Kimberton Village Business Association. You can also get dinner beforehand and go to a party afterwards.

Cost: $10 for adults; $5 for seniors; free for kids 12 and under

Why Go: Come check out the Bryn Mawr MainLiners, an a cappella chorus that sings predominantly in the barbershop style. It’s presented by Phoenixville Federal Bank and Trust, and best of all, it’s free.

Painting and Cleaning Party at Forge Theatre

Where/When: , Sat., July 23 and Sun., July 24 starting at 10 a.m.

Why Go: Help Forge Theatre get ready for its 50th Anniversary Season by showing up to paint and clean out trash from the historic building on First Avenue. There will be refreshments, so stop by and help out.

Cost: Free

Where/When: , Mon., July 25, 3 p.m. – 9 p.m.

Why Go: Dress up the youngsters and come out to help the family of Gabby Vogel, a 5-year-old Phoenixville girl with inoperable brain cancer. Ten percent of the proceeds will go to Gabby’s family. There will be kid-friendly events, as well.
