Locals Flock to History Tour

The tour was sponsored by The Historical Society of the Phoenixville Area and the Schuylkill River Heritage Center.

More than 250 people headed to the Schuylkill River Heritage Center Thursday to take a peek at the past.

Groups of 15 people left the center every few minutes, heading outside the Foundry building and up Main Street toward Reeves Park.

Guides showed photos and gave information, particularly about the Civil War and its effects on the center of Phoenixville. The tours wrapped up at The Historical Society of the Phoenixville Area, which co-sponsored the event along with the Schuylkill River Heritage Center.
