Model Train Lovers' Paradise

Free will donations make this annual event affordable family fun for all ages.

The Schulykill Valley Railroad Club is offering a model train lover's wonderland for free this weekend and next in Phoenixville.

1,000 feet of HO scale model railroad train set ups are on display at 400 Main Street.

Admission is on a pay what you like donation basis.  Hours are 1-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday this weekend and next.

It's a sight to behold for both young and old.

A description posted on Philly Fun Guide says  "Our Model Railroad Open House is "fun for kids of all ages". SEE & HEAR freight & passenger trains pulled by steam or diesel engines over 700’ of track. Four different railroads are depicted on the 1,000+ square foot HO scale (1/87) model. Hundreds of buildings, vehicles, people and trees create realistic scenes. Numerous buttons allow visitors to bring scenes to life! See Thomas the Tank Engine & try your observation skills with our Scavenger Hunt."
