It's one of Phoenixville's most popular monthly events and First Friday celebrations resume for the 2014 season on Friday.

The street and music festival runs from 6 to 10 p.m. on Bridge Street between Gay and Starr streets.

A map of venues along Bridge Street is available here on the First Friday website.

The First Friday website describes First Friday this way:

Phoenixville First Fridays are an exhilarating celebration! Every month we showcase the eclectic feel of Phoenixville. You'll find live music, theatrical performances, local artists, & fun surprises!Walk around and explore some of our arts venues, small shops , unique boutiques and outstanding restaurants. First Fridays are a great time to experience the beauty of the Borough and all that the Downtown Area has to offer. Gather your friends & family, & join us every First Friday each month at 6-10 p.m.

Are you planning to go to First Friday? Take some photos and share them with other Patchers. Just tag them using #papatch.

Stop by the Schuylkill River Heritage Center, at the foundry from 5:30-dark. We have a free kids work shop where they can build the tallest marshmallow tower with toothpicks, learn how a pattern was cast, challenge themselves with a now and then photo activity and many more fun ways to learn about Phoenixville. See you tonight!

Just wanted to mention that there are also First Friday activities on Main Street every First Friday. The street is blocked off from traffic between Bridge and Church so people can enjoy the live band and vendors on the street. In fact, the picture used for this article shows Main Street's live band and the Phoenixville Fire Department's fire truck behind it. Thanks!
