Race to Beat the Blob: Sidewalk Construction at Colonial Theater

The race is on to finish sidewalk work in front of the Colonial Theater before 300 people run screaming out of the building to open Blob Fest.

Sidewalk construction in front of the Colonial Theater had traffic down to one lane in each direction on Bridge Street in Phoenixville for much of Tuesday afternoon.

Construction on the block between Main and Gay streets is expected to last several weeks because this section involves a lot of custom brick work. Crews on the scene told Patch that the section directly in front of the Colonial Theater will be finished in time for Blob Fest which runs July 12-14 at the theater and neighboring areas of Phoenixville.

Colonial Theater Executive Director Mary Foote tells Patch the sidewalk will be done in time for the opening night of Blob Fest on July 12 when 300 people are expected to run screaming out of the sold-out theater during a live Blob stage show. Look for much more on Blob Fest 2013 in the coming days on Phoenixville Patch.
