Viewfinder: 2011 Kimberton Fair Opening Ceremonies

The 83rd Kimberton Fair goes through July 30.

Below is  list of results for Monday, July 25:
Baked Goods Auction took in almost $500; Gross revenue was down 70% due to rain last night. 
 
2011 Kimberton Fair Queen - Sarah Hammaker, daughter of Cindy Hammaker, Kimberton
Sarah wiill be a 2012 graduate of Phoenixville Area High School. Find out more about Sarah and all the contestants here.
 
2011 Fair Ambassador - Frank Small, Kimberton
Frank Small is a well-known resident and businessman in the Phoenixville-Kimberton area. He worked at the former SCM plant in Phoenixville in their Marketing Department and now is the owner of Office Furniture Concepts.  

He has been a member of the Phoenixville Chamber of Commerce as well as the Kimberton Lions Club. Frank has been a part of the Kimberton Fair for more than 30 years. His children have exhibited in the Fair, and his oldest daughter Catherine was 2004 Kimberton Fair Queen.
 
Special Baking Contest Winners:  (these contestants now qualify for the state competitions to be held at the PA Farm Show in Harrisburg)
 
Hershey Cocoa Classic Chocolate Cake Winner - Janel Flor, Phoenixville - Chocolate Covered Cherry Cake
Hershey Cocoa Classic Cookie-Brownie-Bar Winner - Jenny Huffman, Malvern - Cream Cheese Brownie Cups
Incredible Angel Food Cake Contest - Elizabeth Willard, Chester Springs - Chocolate Almond Angel Food Cake [note: this cake went for $43 at our baked goods auction last night!)
Blue Ribbon Apple Pie - Andy Bidwell, Kimberton
 
Shephard Award - given to the Exhibitor with the most earned ribbons in the Home Art Entry department
Deborah Kolpak, Elverson
