Love to Sing? Community Chorus Auditions to be held on Tuesday, September 4th at CMS in Trappe!

Trappe, PA – Community Music School’s multi-generational community chorus, The Cantabile Chorale, is holding auditions on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 from 6:00-8:00pm.  All parts welcome – soprano, tenor and basses needed. If you are at least 16 years of age, enjoy singing and being with other people who enjoy singing, you will love the Cantabile Chorale! Under the direction of Emilily Kosasih, The Cantabile Chorale explores repertoire ranging from classical to jazz standards, performs twice a year and at community events.

All those interested in joining the community chorus are required to audition.  Please call 610-489-3676 or email info@cmsmusic.org to schedule an audition.  Walk-ins also welcome.  The purpose of the audition is to determine vocal range and musical ability.  All singers will be asked to sing a few simple scale exercises and a verse of a familiar song.  Singers may also bring a piece of their own choosing.  An accompanist will be provided.  Weekly rehearsals will begin Tuesday, September 10 from 7:15 to 8:45 pm.  There is a $125 annual membership fee payable at the first rehearsal. The membership fee is waived for students enrolled in private lessons at CMS.

As a non-profit organization, the mission of Community Music School is to enrich lives and communities by offering excellent, affordable music instruction to all people, and to provide performance opportunities that contribute to the cultural life of the communities it serves.  For information on the community chorus and other programs of music instruction available at CMS, please call 610-489-3676 or visit the school’s website at www.cmsmusic.org.
