'Our Town' Coming to Our Town on January 11

The local production will run at Forge Theatre through January 26.

The time honored classic drama "Our Town" will be presented at Forge Theatre beginning Friday, January 11, 2013 and running through January 16. Performance dates are January 11, 12, 18, 19, 24, 25, and 26. Evening performances are set for 8 p.m. and a Sunday matinee is at 2 p.m.

Admission is $12 for adults and $10 for youth under 18.

"Our Town" is set in Grover's Corners, New Hampshire. Join the actors and crew as they explore the world of Thornton Wilder's masterwork of the American theatre. This innovative production spins a blazingly intense and sharply satiric story of two small-town families, all the while reminding us that the past is a dream that glows with the evening warmth of memory in a present viewed in the cold light of day.

It is appropriate that Our Town be presented here in Phoenixville, truly our town, as the plans for Forge Theatre to relocate to another facility have been put on hold.  The Board of Directors of Forge Theatre wishes to thank the community of Phoenixville for the loyal support during these past few months.  The search for a newer, more modern, more spacious location with adequate on site parking is still in progress and Forge will be announcing fundraising plans toward this goal after the first of the year.
