Sweeney Todd Makes an Appearance at The Colonial Theatre

The musical thriller "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street" was performed Thursday at the Colonial Theatre.

Based on the book by Hugh Wheeler, "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street," was performed by the Unionville May Play Society tonight at . 

Sweeney Todd, played by the artistic director Domingo Mancuello, is a barber who was sent to prison and seeks revenge for those who punished him, and for the misfortunes that happened to his wife and child. 

He becomes crazed and is known for shaving the heads of people who would never be seen again.  Also in the play were Justin Gawthrop, playing Anthony Hope, Meg Boeni as Mrs. Lovett, Maddy Wills at the Beggar Woman, and Cailey Oehler as Johanna (Todd's daugther).

The production was 100 percent student directed, organized and composed, and all of the proceeds made from that night will go to The Colonial Theatre Restoration Project.
