And the Winner Is ...

Come out to the Phoenixville Area Entrepreneur Expo on Oct. 8.

The votes have been tallied and wow—we had nearly 1,000, with the votes on and on Facebook combined.

According to you, the readers of Phoenixville Patch, will be the 2011 Entrepreneur of the Year, which will be awarded at Saturday's expo at . The hometown bank had 477 total. We added up votes from Facebook with the votes from Patch to get the totals.

There were other entrepreneurs who did very well in the voting, too. came in just behind Phoenixville Federal, landing in second place. Shep's Yard also did great in the voting, placing third overall.

At the Phoenixville Area Entrepreneur Expo 2011, state Sen. Andy Dinniman will present the award to representatives from Phoenixville Federal. In addition, awards will also be presented to the 2011 Unsung Hero and the Most Charitable Entrepreneur (but we're keeping the lid on who those winners are).

Along with the award presentations, there will also be entertainment all day long, starting with youngsters. Phoenixville's recreation department hosted camps during the summer, and one was Phoenixville's Got Talent. The winners will perform to help get the expo underway shortly after noon Saturday.

Then, the day is packed with panel discussions, vendors, a presentation from the Freedoms Foundation, a keynote speech by Dinniman and a presentation by state Rep. Warren Kampf. Musicians and events like a Zumba demonstration and a hula hoop and contest round out a full day of events.

Dolores Winston of the Western Suburban Business Alliance said even though this is the first entrepreneur expo, she's confident it will be a success. 

"We hope that someone there will be inspired, will make some connections, will network," Winston said.
