L & L Fitness Studio Has Something for Everyone

You pick your goal, and the husband and wife team at L & L hold you to it.

While many exercise centers, local and otherwise, operate within a specific niche, L & L Fitness Studio prides itself on the variety of its clientele. They have something for everyone.

Husband and wife team Lou and Larah Kornfeind say the age of their members ranges, at the moment, from 15 to 72, and runs the gamut of ability levels. L & L members include strength trainers—"The big boys," as Lou calls them—women losing weight for weddings, and even people recovering from serious health problems.

They all have one thing in common though, Larah says. They each have a target.

"We work with anyone with a goal," she said. "As long as they have a goal for their health and their body, we work with them."

"We hold people accountable," Lou added.

The couple compliments one another well. As part of what they characterize as a holistic approach to health, Lou handles the training while Larah, 5 1/2 months pregnant, metes out the nutritional advice.

"Diet is probably slightly more important than training," the husband admitted, wisely.

Their 1288 Valley Forge Road Studio, which they opened in June, is split into two levels. The main floor houses a small locker room, with a larger area for free weights, Smith machines, and cable exercises, while a smaller upstairs loft is aimed at beginners.

"It's for medicine balls, Plyo Box, body weight stuff," Lou explained.

Weather permitting, they also take clients outside to exercise around the commons.

But while L & L is firmly fixated on its clients’ goals, it's also a realization of its owners’.

"It's always been a dream of ours to have our own space," Larah said. "To give clients a more personalized experience."
