The Convenient Christmas Tree

Petrucci's Christmas Trees takes exceptional service somewhere new—your doorstep.

The memories are fresh for anyone who has already brought this year's Christmas tree home: the scratches on the car, the mess of scattered needles, the wrestling of a 12-foot spruce into its stand.

The process of procuring a pine may isolate many people from participatingin this annual Christmas tradition. The elderly, the sick, the busy executive, the single gal, the out of shape, the car obsessed—all different walks of life, all who may find bringing home a fresh-cut tree simply not worth the hassle.

Enter Christmas Trees, a 12-year Phoenixville tree-buying tradition. Owner John Colarusso prides himself in the "quality and service" customers receive at his lot.

"We aren't the budget buy ... but we give excellent service and our trees are beautiful," Colarusso said.

Colarusso hopes the delivery service will help make his trees more accessible to those who would like a fresh tree but don't want to or are unable to deal with the work involved. For a delivery, which entails leaving the tree on the customer's porch or doorstep, the fee starts at $15 within the borough and follows a sliding scale for the surrounding area.

For the delivery and set up, clients bring their tree stand to the lot and the tree is delivered and set up inside the customer's home and straightened in the stand to the customer's liking. Prices for this service start at $39 and go up according to area.

Colarusso explains that for a fee, they may even consider tree removal at the end of the season. The reasoning is that there are people who can't or won't wrestle with a tree to get it up, and that poses the argument that the same can be said for taking it down.

"We think of Coldstream Crossing [development], right down the street, as a perfect example of some people who could really use this. Getting it in the house and getting it down is a huge deal for them," Colarusso said.
