Trick or Treat in Phoenixville and Other Local Halloween Fun

Celebrate the spookiest day of the year with these local events.

Houses are decked out, costumes are (mostly) purchased and candy is ready to be doled out in the Phoenixville area.

Here’s a list of Halloween activities coming up in the Phoenixville area in the next few days, including trick or treat times for 2011 in Phoenixville.

When: Monday, Oct. 31, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

What: Mayor Leo Scoda made the declaration a few weeks ago, and trick or treat night in the borough will be on the Halloween holiday.

Kiwanis Annual Halloween Party for Children

When: Saturday, Oct. 29, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

What: Head to the for this annual event where costumed children take to the stage for a Halloween parade. This year, the film "Fraggle Rock" will be shown on the big screen. Kids will get a bag of treats at the end of the party.

Downtown Phoenixville Trick or Treating

When: Saturday, Oct. 29, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.

What: Phoenixville’s downtown businesses will be part of this event. Stop in shops and restaurants with a special trick-or-treat sign and garner treats.

“The Nightmare Before Christmas” in Valley Forge Park

When: Friday, Oct. 28, 7 p.m.

What: Head to the The Encampment Store in Valley Forge National Historical Park for a free showing of the Tim Burton flick “The Nightmare Before Christmas.” Kids who show up in costume get a bag of treats.

When: Saturday, Oct. 29, 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

What: With a pumpkin derby, a carving contest and more, this brand spanking new festival should make for a fun time in its first year. Come out to and you might come home with some prizes.

When: Friday, Oct. 28 and Saturday, Oct. 29 starting at 8 p.m.

What: Meet at the and head down Bridge Street and around town hearing about paranormal activity in the borough. Be sure to RSVP in advance.
