Wegmans Recalls Onion Products Sold in Collegeville

Products containing onions sold at the Collegeville Wegmans store between July 18 and July 26 may be contaminated.

Wegmans Food Markets, Inc. is recalling prepared foods that contain chopped/diced white onions as an ingredient because the onions have the potential to be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.

The products were sold at between July 18 and July 26.

The onions are a product of Gill Onions, LLC, which initiated a recall of the onions on July 18, and were supplied to Wegmans by Primo Produce of Allentown
