When the Weather Gets Hot, the Beer Must Get Colder

The Iron Hill Brewery is hosting 'The Big Chill' on August 17.

Alcohol, scientists tell us, causes dehydration and so is a suboptimal beverage choice on hot days. Scientists are nerds.

The , in an admirable attempt to get around the admittedly thorny “alcohol is a diuretic and so dehydrates you, severely” problem, will be serving really, really cold alcoholic drinks on August 17 at its “The Big Chill” event.

According to Phoenixville Dish, on tap that evening will be reimagined (i.e., frozen) versions of some of the brewery’s most popular beers, including Vienna Red Lager Slushy, Orange-Belgian Tripel Slushy, Hop Sorbet, Chocolate Stout Ice Cream, Pig Iron Porter Float, and Berliner Weisse Snow Cone. Beer infused toppings like Salted Beer Caramel Sauce, Beer Soaked Cherries, Almond-Beer Brittle, and Russian Imperial Syrup will also be on offer.
