5 Things to Know June 9: New Shop on Bridge St., 422 Toll News

Here are a few things worth knowing on June 9.

Press Conference on 422 Tolls Today: Republican state Reps. Warren Kampf, Mike Vereb, Marcy Toepel and Tom Quigley will gather today at 2 p.m. in the 422 Business Center for a press conference on possible tolls on Route 422. The latest plan includes tolling from Douglassville to Route 202 in King of Prussia at a cost of $2.75 to travel that distance.

Hearing for Stabbing Defendant Scheduled for Today: A hearing is scheduled for today for 17-year-old Joseph Graham of Phoenixville, who was charged as an adult with attempted homicide and other charges after a stabbing in the 300 block of Washington Avenue over Memorial Day weekend.

New Bread Shop Coming to Bridge: I met Ryan Hagan, who recently moved here from Portland, at an event Sunday night. Hagan will open up Sultane, an artisan bread shop in the 100 block of Bridge Street (next to Iron Hill) in the coming weeks. The spot already has a brick oven, which Hagan plans to use.

Last Day of School Today: School’s out for summer … or it will be, at the conclusion of a half-day today in Phoenixville Area School District. Graduation will take place this evening. Remember the excitement of a whole summer ahead?
