Batten Down the Hatches: Wind Advisory for the Phoenixville Area

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a wind advisory for Friday morning until 6 p.m. Friday for Delaware, Montgomery, Chester, Bucks and the surrounding counties.

Winds are expected to be between 20 to 25 miles per hour, with gusts up to around 45 mph, the NWS warns.

"Strong wind gusts can knock down tree limbs and possibly some weaker trees, which may take down some power lines resulting in scattered power outages," the advisory states. "The winds will make it difficult to drive high-profile vehicles, especially on bridges and other elevated roadways."

Residents are urged to secure outdoor furniture and garbage cans.
