Car Accident Causes 600 to Lose Power in Phoenixville

A PECO rep said all service should be restored by 7 p.m.

An accident near the corner of Bridge Street and Church Street this morning knocked out power in 600 borough homes, a PECO spokesperson confirmed this afternoon.

According to Martha Phan, a representative of the utility company, the accident occurred at approximately 7 a.m. and affected two poles. Initially 600 customers lost power, but PECO has since been able to restore service to about 430 of those customers.

“We’ve had crews on site all day to replace the poles, the wires, and the equipment,” said Phan.
