Choose From More Than a Hundred Summer Camps at the Main Line Camp Fair
Main Line Camp Fair has the goods on summer camps in the region and beyond.
Whether your kids are learning to do flips at , or shooting baskets at SWISH Basketball Club, summer camp is an opportunity for children to have adventures that wouldn’t be possible during the school year.
Let’s face it. Many of our kids spend a lot of time indoors, learning the mechanics of reading and math, or playing Lego Star Wars on Wii. In the summer, we want them to be able to stretch their wings a little. We want them to try something new and meet kids they wouldn't normally get to spend time with. We want them to discover things they can’t get from sitting in a classroom.
“Summer camp is a nice way for them to add variety to their educational experience,” said Evelyn Shreve, co-chair of the Main Line Camp Fair, which will take place on Feb. 9 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Conestoga High School in Berwyn.

The annual Main Line Camp Fair offers parents a chance to get information about the options for day camp and sleep-away camp. Over a hundred camps, from as far away as Israel and Costa Rica, will be represented. Shreve said between 700 and 800 parents from the Philadelphia region attend the fair, drawn by the free admission and the variety of the camps on display. Programs serving children from preschool age through high school are expected.
Shreve said the fair has been operated for the past 23 years as a fundraiser for the Parent-Teacher Organization at Devon Elementary School.
