Citizen Advocacy of Chester County will celebrate its 35th anniversary by hosting its annual Spaghetti Dinner at Bethel Baptist Church in Phoenixville on Saturday, September 22, 2012. Featuring both take-out and sit down dining options, the event includes live music and an exciting selection of raffle items. Tickets are available in advance or at the door: adults - $10, children - $5 and a special anniversary ticket is available for $25. All proceeds support the work of Citizen Advocacy.

For 35 years, Citizen Advocacy of Chester County has been a unique and effective organization which initiates matches between unpaid citizens with people who have mental and/or physical disabilities. Advocates help their partners with access to medical care, education, housing, fiscal skills, transportation and a number of supports, as well as offering a committed personal friendship that often ends a devastating cycle of isolation.

These relationships change the quality of life for vulnerable people and improve community life for all of us. Citizen Advocacy has a relatively low budget because the work is completely dependent on the lifelong commitments of the advocates who voluntarily give their time, skills, emotional and physical energy, and sometimes even financial support, to their partners with disabilities.
