Viewfinder: Curious About the Cat Show in Kimberton?

The Black Diamond Cat Club Show was held Feb. 19 - 20 at the Kimberton Fairgrounds.

The Black Diamond Cat Club held its annual show at the Kimberton Fairgrounds Saturday and Sunday. It was a Cat Fanciers' Association Allbreed Cat Show. Cat breeders and handlers crowded the aisles, and the show featured multiple rings where the cats were judged.

Between judgings, the owners relaxed, chatted or groomed their cats in grooming stations. Signs of cat breed loyalty abounded, and in the parking lot plenty of cars featured stickers or magnets boasting of certain breeds. Vendors at the show sold cat goods and rescue organizations like the Cat Angel Network were also on hand.

Unlike a dog show, cats here weren't pranced around. Instead, owners placed the felines in cages in the rings, and then judges took the cats one by one to a table where they were examined in front of an audience. Then, the judges placed markers on the cages to signify winners.
