Dead Body Pulled From Schuylkill River

The body of an unidentified male, cause of death not yet determined, was found in the river near Norristown.

According to 6ABC Action News, the body recovered from the Schuylkill River on Monday afternoon, Nov. 19, is that of a Hispanic man, possibly in his late 20s, police said. The man was reportedly wearing a landscaping hat.

Norristown Police and Fire Departments were called to the scene near Riverfront Park along the banks of the Schuylkill at the end of Haws Avenue at approximately 12:30 p.m. for a report of a water rescue after a Pennsylvania game warden reported seeing a body floating in the river, snagged on debris and driftwood near the edge of the riverbank.

On the scene, authorities had secured the area and teams of police investigators, county detectives and fire department rescue workers made their way down a wooded path to the location of the body. The body was evenutally recovered and transported to the Montgomery County Coroner's Office.

According to The Times Herald, police do not suspect foul play at this time.

Very little information has been released about the incident and Norristown Police are still investigating the incident.
