Deadline for ‘Phoenixville Blues Idol’ Registration Under Two Weeks Out

We want you singing the blues because you’re in this competition, not because you missed it.

The last day to register for the 2012 Phoenixville Blues Idol competition is June 10 at 5 p.m. Interested contestants can visit the event’s website here to register to croon in the June 13, 7 p.m. audition at coffee house.

The top 20 performers, by the reckoning of a panel of local judges and audience scoring, will advance to the preliminary rounds scheduled for July 18 and July 25 at Steel City. From there, the field will be pared to 10 for an August 8 quarterfinal round, then down to six for the “sing-offs” at the Phoenixville Blues Fest pre-party on September 7, before the a final three will be selected to perform at the festival on September 8.

Contestants will be judged on audience response, vocals, instrumental skills, stage presence, and the content and originality of their song selections. The first prize winner will take home $300, while second and third will win $200 and $100, respectively.
