Get Out: What to Do in the Phoenixville Area This Weekend
Find something fun to do during the first official weekend of summer.
Some thunderstorms might crop up, but mostly it looks like the weekend will be dry—and not stiflingly hot, either, according to Weather.com.
If you’re looking to get out and have some fun in the Phoenixville area, here are a few ideas to get you started:

Where/When: Kiwanis Children’s Plaza, Bank Street in the 200 block of Bridge Street; Sat., June 25, 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.
Why Go: This weekend, the entertainment is “Miss Maggie Sings,” and the kids will be entertained with music and fun. These events will be held every Saturday morning through Sept. 10.

Cost: Free
Where/When: 250 Third Ave., Phoenixville (St. Ann’s Griffin Hall); Sun., June 26, 4 p.m. – 7 p.m.
Why Go: Enjoy a delicious dinner of spaghetti, homemade sauce, salad and bread while supporting local resident Gabby Vogel, a 5-year-old who was recently diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, and is currently at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. There will also be basket and 50/50 raffles, water ice sales and baked goods for sale. Take out dinners will be available beginning at 3:30 p.m.
Cost: $10 for adults; $5 for children 5-12; free for children under 5
Farmers’ Market in Phoenixville
Where/When: in Taylor Alley under the Gay Street Bridge; Sat., June 25, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Why Go: Summer’s in full swing and you can get some delicious fresh and local food at the Phoenixville Farmers’ Market. Fresh kohlrabi, Swiss chard, sugar snap peas, cucumbers and more will be available at the market.
Cost: Free admission
Where/When: ; Sun., June 26, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Why Go: The day will be filled with music, food and fun right near the water. Favorites like the fishing derby and canal jousting will take place, and bands will entertain starting at 11 a.m. Stop by to support the Schuylkill Canal Association and enjoy this historic park.
Cost: $5 donation; children 5 and under are free
Where/When: , Sat., June 25, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
Why Go: Fiber spinners and needleworkers are invited to drop in and out of this event at Reeves Park. It’s free and open to the public.
