Here are five events that are coming up:

Where/When: Lowe’s in Oaks, March 12, 10 a.m.

Why Go: Yes, it’s a few weeks away, but these free kids’ workshops fill up very fast. Participants get free goggles, an apron, a patch and a merit certificate, as well as the completed project. On March 12, the project is a miniature basketball hoop game.

Where/When: in Phoenixville, Feb. 26, 1 p.m.

Why Go: If you love this classic story or if your little one is into acting, this is a great opportunity to participate in a live (and local) performance of The Sound of Music.

Why Go: Nationally-known parenting education Jack Petrash presents this workshop for parents seeking guidance or raising healthy kids.

Where/When: in Phoenixville, Feb. 26, noon – 1 p.m.

Why Go: YMCA instructor Svetlana Tarnavsky conducts this workshop on Saturdays. Gather in front of the Lighthouse Lounge stage and get to work!

Pricing: $10 for the first child, $5 for the second child

Where/When: , Monday nights at 6:30 p.m.

Why Go: Come to this family-friendly showing. This week, the Oscar-nominated animated shorts will be shown, and they’re kid-friendly so you can bring the older ones along, too.
